Riyadh: Saudi Arabia is set to launch a new T20 cricket league to rival the Indian Premier League and Big Bash League, featuring eight teams and matches across four locations.
The league, spearheaded by Australian Neil Maxwell, will include teams from cricketing nations like India and Australia while expanding into emerging markets. Both men's and women's competitions are planned, with a potential final in Saudi Arabia.
Backed by SRJ Sports Investments, Saudi Arabia is expected to invest $500 million. The league awaits ICC approval and potential policy changes by the BCCI to allow Indian players' participation.
